FireFox themes and extensions
« on: March 07, 2006, 08:52:22 AM »
First of all ... sice I saw that most visitors use firefox ... I think there should be some one here to talk about it ...

recently ... like a few minutes ago ... I searched for an extention for firefox ... yet while doing so .. I also searched for a new theme ... I'm kinda bored of the one I got .... which is Red Cats(Green flavor) ... i would like a wolf theme ... but there are none and this one was the only green theme I found ... besides the black ones where not that grate ... :P...

Anyway I wanted to ask you which theme you think I should try...

as of right now I had tested the following:

Red Cats (green flavor)
BlackJapan
RedShift
Glassier
Metal Lion
GreenShift
Walnut for Firefox
Nautipolis for Firefox
Scribblies Kids

If you have one you think I should try ... post it XD

Also I made this thread to talk about any Firefox theme or extension... so talk about them XD

EDIT: Fixed title's spelling.

Well, I recommend "iFox". It makes it look like a Mac, and everyone knows Macs look good. "BlueShift" is also good.

As for extensions, "Adblock" is a must have.

I won't try blueshift ... it seems similar to greenshift and redshift ... so no ...

And about the extensions, yeah ... adblock is great ... and I have heard flasgot is also useful ..

I have seen some of the effects of those extensions you're talking about in this forum.
I'm also a FireFox explorer user, but I didn't think about them, so I'll tried to install some of them (the ones you're talking).

P.S. Which ones you recommend me more?

The one I'm using has lots of changes ... it even has a background for the not found message ... so I kinda like it ...
Yet if you don't like cats that much ...

The Walnut theme seems ok ... and the shift (blue, green, red) are fine ... I guess ..
Check the theme webpage... there should be a list of the more populars or highest rated ...

REgarding extencions ...
I recommend:
Adblock
leet key
IE Tab

I would also recomend "MeasureIt" which helps you measure in pixels within Firefox.

I recommend to Add the Google Images and Wikipedia (English of course) to your right - side searchbar .... also y recommend GreaseMonkey (which allow you to quickly add scripts)  and FasterFox .(which allows pages to load quicker , and gives you the exact time it took ).. both are great.  ;)
DonBrian. ;)

Hmm... right, I have added Wikipedia to my search bar; Google Images... I don't really feel that it's going to make my image searches quicklier than just searching in Google and switching to images.

I'll try the ones you recommended, Don Brian.

PS: Forgot to say, I recommend getting SearchPluginHacks. This way, you'll be able to remove search engines from your Search Bar.

Great extensions for FireFox!
I installed the all the ones you are recommending and some extras:

  • Watch YouTube ToolBar 2.0 (for a quikier YouTube access and watch videos more comfortably)
  • Video Downloader 1.0 (with this you can download videos from YouTube, Google, Metacafe, iFilm, etc.)

Sorry guys, but I'm leaving Firefox. I'm now using Opera and IMO, it owns. I'll probably use Firefox at times, but Opera will now be my default browser.

More secure, faster, better and cleaner design, and some extra functionality, like integrated RSS reader.

Oh... and compared to Firefox, you don't need to restart in order to apply a new theme or use a new widget(extensions for Firefox).
