NM News / N Masters is looking for staff!
« on: April 17, 2014, 07:30:38 PM »
Hello world of N Masters, and all you interweb heads that read this!  This is your friendly neighborhood GMod Shiiku here.

As we are currently continuing our efforts to help this site grow back into the bustling community it once was, we are also currently looking for the much needed help that will bring life back here as well.  Link-NM and myself are currently working on just about all jobs and positions for the forum at the moment.  Though the forum is not huge enough yet to panic over a lack of extra helping hands, it is still nonetheless, an effort for us both to try and juggle all positions on the site.

So, without further ado, and as the title of this topic states, we are currently looking for and accepting newcomers who wish to help with either of these positions:

An artist for the site - Your job will entail any hand drawn and/or digitally drawn art for N Masters.  The most apparent one now is art for our mascot, Rie.  You will basically be asked to draw up anything on the site that requires drawn art.
Requirements: Someone who loves art, and in particular can draw anime styled art.  Someone who has been working with art for a good amount of time.
- Taken! ~Link-NM

Three news reporters/posters - Your jobs will be to get the most up to date news posted up as soon as possible after its announce.  The bigger the news story, the more prompt should it be posted up.  You will all work together as a team with one being the head.
Requirements:Peoples that know where and how to find their news, love researching and reporting it, and have the general knowledge on how to make a decent news post.

Next bit of info; requirements.  If you do not meet three or more of the requirements listed below, please do not consider applying.

Requirements (Please read carefully):

1 - That you can juggle both real life, as well as your position on the forum.
We perfectly understand that this is no real life crisis if you cannot for personal or urgent reasons, not be able to be here and do as you applied for.  Real life comes first, as do family and friends and their needs.  All we are looking for is someone who can juggle both, and will be able to stick to their responsibilities here on the site.  If your current life situations or position requires more time of you, then applying may not work out too well for both you and us at the moment.

2 - That you tackle responsibilities continuously, and preferably without having to be reminded.
We need members who will do what their position title asks of them, without us having to be the broken record of reminding them of their tasks.  No procrastination wanted.  Please be honest with yourself on how you tackle work.

3 - That you will stick around for a while.
For those of you who will come and go for no good reasons, applying may not be in yours, nor our best interest.  First of all we need people who will truly love the position they apply for.  We are looking for members who will stay on the team for a good period of time.  Of course, if for reasons stated in #1 you cannot maintain your position it would be perfectly understandable that you need to step down.  What we don't want to see is that one month your active, then next month you're absent, and so on.

4 - That you will also be an active member of the community.
It's great that you are willing to help the site grow by your knowledge and talents, but do remember that there is also a community, or one that we're trying to form at least, that you should not feel shy about interacting with.  You're not just a robotic artist or news poster programmed to do only one thing.  And we don't bite.  Just make yourself at home here.

5 - That you keep communication open and at easy access.
It helps us greatly when you tell us what's going on or what will go on.  Leaving us to guess whether or not you've been abducted by aliens, or some other extremely exaggerated scenario really makes for frustrating times.  If you're confused, tell us.  If you're unsure about anything, let us know.  Advice, need to tell us you'll be away, can't do something for any reasons, spill the beans.  It helps both you and us out, as well as the community.

I know this may seem a little extreme, or over thought, done, etc.  However, we thought coming up with general requirements would help us find the right person(s).  Again, please read carefully all that is stated above, and if you do not meet three or more of the requirements above, do not consider applying.  Consider applying when you have.

Also, last but not least, we need people who will truly enjoy their positions.  This is not about joining to gain a glory title on the forum or to be something special.  It's to do what you love best and may be good at, and a willingness to help us out.  I cannot stress honesty enough here.

If you are interested in any of the positions listed above, and feel that you have met the requirements necessary, please register and PM Link-NM.  If you are an artist you will be asked to provide an example art sketch.  Link-NM will alert you of anything else he may need from you via the PM.

Thank you in advance to anyone who helps us out.  It's going to be greatly appreciated, more than you know.  And last but not least, have fun guys and girls!~

NM News / Super Smash Bros. Direct summary
    « on: April 08, 2014, 10:03:48 PM »

There is an immense amount of info and then some that Sakurai generously revealed today during the Super Smash Bros. Direct.  I'm still in the process of being able to take it all in, which makes the hype for this game increase only the more.  From the newcomers, to the online play, and the custom move sets, there really isn't much to not be in great anticipation for.

So with that said, let's get to the recap.

Launch window - The 3DS version of Smash is set to release summer 2014, and the Wii U version of Smash is set to release Winter 2014.

Silky-smooth 3D - Some technical information, but a good piece of it nonetheless.  The 3DS version of Smash will, in all stereoscopic 3D, run at 60 frames per second.

"Smash Run" - This mode will only be exclusive to the 3DS version.  With this mode 4 players will have 5 minutes to enter a dungeon and explore things.  Finding and obtaining power-ups to better their characters, and fighting off the enemies that are based off a wide variety from various game series.  After their 5 minutes is up, the 4 players will enter a new battle arena and fight each other with the help of their picked up power-ups, and/or equipped items.  This requires multiple 3DS systems, as well as the game for the multiplayer mode(s).

It's a mode that kind of comes off to me as a mix of the Brawl SSE, and Melee's adventure mode.  Either way you look at it, it's an interesing and fun looking mode.

New challenger - Greninja!  He joins the battle in both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game.

Oldies but goodies - Some fighters that many were waiting to see have been revealed.  Each looking beautifully stunning with spiffed up styles that for some will add to combat.
    So without further ado:

~ Zero Suit Samus: Yup.  She's back!  However this time as her own playable character, separate from Samus.  This time around her suit is not just for show.  She has jet boots that will make her even more evasive and powerful.

~ Sheik: Is back too, and also as her own character!  Like Zelda, her down-B is different, and she has new attacks like Burst Grenade and Bouncing Fish.

~ Yoshi: The beloved dinosaur every was waiting to see!  He now stands upright just like everyone else, making him stronger now.

~ Charizard: After his first appearance from a Poke Ball in Melee, and becoming playable by the power of the Trainer in Brawl, he is now promoted to being a playable character!

Online play - Both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game will allow for online play with players on the same platform.  Best played with broadband internet access, you can battle with any who also own the games.

~ Two new modes are available when playing multiplayer online.  "For Fun" and "To Glory".  In "For Glory" the only stage that will be selected is Final Destination with variations to the stage.  There are no items, platforms, or elevated areas in this mode to make it more nice and clean.  In "For Fun" all stages are picked randomly, and all items and power-ups are available.

~ While playing with friends the full customization is available, with players being able to set rules, stages, and the items at the press of a button.

Variety of Stages - The cast of playable characters is the same in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, but the stage of battle where it takes place is quite different.  Wii U stages are primarily based on past home console games, and the 3DS are inspired by handheld games.

~ Boss characters like the Yellow Devil which is in Dr. Wiley's base will have an appearance in some stages.  As the bosses appear, fighters will have to battle the boss, as well as each other.  The said boss can even be used towards your strategy to win.

~ Almost all the stages will have the Final Destination form.  They are alternated versions inspired by the much loved, and simple Final Destination stage!

Items, Trophies and Pokemon - Items, Trophies, and the Poke Balls return in both the Wii U and 3DS Smash game.  New to announce are the Master Balls, special versions of the Poke Ball that contain legendary Pokemon like Arceus, and Xerneas.

Get connected - There are elements in this Smash Bros. game that will link both versions of the game.  More details of this is said to be released at a later date.

Custom moves - First for the series, players can now customize move sets!  This applies to both the local and wifi play with friends of the game.  Again, more information to be released later on concerning this.

So all in all, it was far beyond our expectations.  At least in my opinion.  Much to look forward to, and continue boiling up the pot of hype!  You can keep posted and up to date about the daily news and pics via our Smash Bros. thread.

Have you have your fill and fun guys and girls!~

Oh!  Last but not least... the video itself!  Enjoy :]

    « on: December 10, 2008, 11:40:27 PM »
News for the future 'Play on Wii' games, both Pikmin and Mario Tennis features have been announced from Famitsu.
New "elements" have been added, while they both still stand as the original titles.

For Pikmin, the main new featurette deals with saving.  Saving now holds what's called, "day-to-day" playing records.  Meaning, you can start off at the desired day of your choice; wherever a 'save' was made.

Mario Power Tennis has been made completely with the Wii motion in mind.

    - As with a regular racket, you'll easily be able to perform forehands, backhands, smashes, etc.
    - Change the angle of the Wiimote while swining, and you can perform a Spin Shot.
    - Pressing buttons during a swing will allow for 'Special Shots'.

Mario Tennis will also allow play with both the Wiimote and Wiimote/Nunchuck.  Playing with the Wiimote/Nunchuck will allow for character control on a court.

    Also, release dates for Japan:
