My goshhhhhhh!!! a very tough game!!! i could only finish it with save states hahahahah its pretty hard
jajaja i don't know you, but i consider the nes and snes games a lot more tougher than the games from the actual consoles (gamecube, XBOX, PS2, etc).

Well, I never played Metroid... but I agree that NES games are much harder than the current games, try playing Little Nemo the Dream Master, that one was so bloody hard not even with save states I could beat the boss, and without save state I couldn't get to the boss, although very near.
I don't need luck, I have skill.

Well.... I think it's harder than the following Metroid games because of some missing features. One easy to say.. a map. NES Metroid doesn't have a map and that gets you lost very easily. But I know that if you ask a really good Metroid player, he would probably have a different opinion from VP or mine.

Metroid Zero Mission, is the remake of the NES game, but it's a lot more confortable and easy to play, IMO. Also, I think it's longer.

But you also gotta love some of the cool glitches that are only in the NES game or the crazy passwords that somehow, gave you good equipment, such as the famous JUSTIN BAILEY.

IMO this game is ridiculously hard... even harder than the classic Megamans... it astonishes me that somebody could even beat this game wothout saves states... although i have seen my friend beat it on VC...

And have lots of free time too.

Continuing in this game is not a great idea, specially since they reset your HP and Missles each time you start.
