Back in April, Sega added a very useful feature that not a lot of people know of: the Party Recruit system. This allows you to open up your party to anyone who wants to join you. Think of it as the new version of the old Party Beacon system in PSO2 Classic. You simply need to enable it and anyone can easily join you. No more sending party invites, bothering random people with notifications, and opening more menus than needed to accept an invitation. And it’s very easy to use too.
How to start Party Recruitment (Leader)
To start Party Recruitment, simply open up your Party Commands menu first. This can be from the Communications option or from the Quick Menu.
Next, scroll down to the Recruit Party Members option.
You will see a menu where you can specify the objective and who can join your party. Additionally, you can add comments that others will see when they try to join your party. Similar to Party Beacons, you need to at least specify an objective. All the other fields are optional.
Once you set up everything to your preferences, you can now select the Start Recruitment button. You will now see a pink icon above your character which indicates that you are a party leader looking for party members. Anyone can see this icon, even on the Nearby Players list.
And anyone will now be able to join you by simply selecting you and choosing a quick Join Party option.
Once your party is filled up, the Party Recruitment icon will disappear from above your character. If someone leaves from the party, your recruitment setting will enable again by itself, making it easier for someone else to fill in the spot.
If you need to cancel the Party Recruitment mode, simply go to the same Recruit Party Members menu and select Cancel Recruitment.
How to join someone else’s Party Recruitment (Party Member)
Joining someone else’s party is even easier. First, click on or select the party leader who is recruiting from Nearby Characters list, which also displays the pink recruitment icon. This is easily accessible by default from your Quick Menu. You can even filter the Nearby Characters list to only show people who are recruiting.
After selecting the player, you will even notice the Party option is highlighted by the pink icon. And inside, you can just select Join Party.
Before confirming to join, you can see the current party, the objective, requirements to join, and any additional comment the leader made when setting up the Party Recruitment.
Simply click Yes on this window and you will immediately join their party.
And that’s it. That’s how easy and simple it is to use the Party Recruitment system in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis. You can use it even in the middle of Urgent Quests so you don’t disrupt the flow of the battle.

Why should I party? A quick reminder
It’s always recommended to form a party in PSO2 NGS because it gives you several benefits.
- You can easily track your party members in the map.
- You can send alert to others of your current position in the map.
But most importantly, it gives you a Party Boost. This boost gets better with the more party members you have. So a full party has the best benefits when compared to a party of 3 or just 2.
